Intruduction of Teaching Activities

After opening for 9 years, the Yongning Station of MRT Bannan Line extended to Dingpu Station in July of the year before. Dingpu Station becomes the spotlight of Bannan Line and it takes about 10-minute walking to arrive to Dingpu Station from Dingpu Elementary School. When the third-grade textbook of Mandarin Chinese mentions about Nangang MRT Station, the majority of the students in class have not entered Dingpu Station.  To acquaint the students with the community in accordance with the Integrative Activity course, the students entered the MRT Stations to understand this huge spotlight of Dingpu Community in-depth.

The Station Master took everyone to visit the features of Dingpu Station, so the students could observe, record their observations using mind map after they return to school and record the visit in words. Students were able to ingrate learning with life and that was the most valuable study from this school field trip. This visit not only helped students appreciate the beauty of MRT but also learn to write journals with mind map and care about their hometown even more.

This July, the long-waited Dingpu MRT Station near our house was opened. To our surprise, the teacher from the Integrated Activities took us to visit the Dingpu MRT Station in order to help acquaint the station. I just could not wait to visit it after hearing about it.

On the day of activity, we arrived to Dingpu MRT Station and I could not wait to go inside and find out what was interesting. I wanted to find what was new, compared to my own visit here. First the station manager took us to visit the "Eye of Hall," where the sunlight seeped in through the different sizes of holes on the ceiling, which was both power saving and environmental-friendly. This art was very special and I really admired the idea of the designer.

Then, the station manager took us to see the "Tong Blossom LED Wall," where the small lovely flowers on the Tong Blossom LED Wall lit for 10 minutes at every hour exactly. The light beams of different colors were emitted like the rainbow with seven colors. It was a pity that we could only watch it for 10 minutes.

The station manager later introduced us with a special public art work "Flying-Start of Dream." This work really looked like a snake but the station manager told us: "This is not a snake but dragon." The golden-silver dragon tangled on the elevator as if protecting the passengers on the elevator.

Finally, the station manager took us for souvenir stamps. As we were lining up to stamp, I discovered the pattern of Yongfu Temple and Foxconn Technology Park on the souvenir stamps.  The patterns are the characteristics of Dingpu community. The teacher even played little games with us using the MRT map after stamping, so that we could know where to visit via MRT.

I found the MRT station was actually very special and interesting from this visit. I will also bring my family to visit the MRT station next time.

Hi I am Dingpu MRT Station. I live near Dingpu Elementary School on Section 4 of Zhongyan Road, Tucheng District of New Taipei City. There are many cars coming in and out near the Yongfu Temple and Foxconn Company.

When I opened my eyes in the morning, I would see many passengers greeting me; some going to work in a rush and some chat while they walk. I have the bright "Eye of Hall" that distributes sunlight to the passenger and pedestrian. Do you know how many eyes are on me? Let me tell you, I have 20 eyes of hall on me.

Take a look at the elevator on my body that carries passengers with physical disability. This elevator is like the bodyguard for people with immobility, taking them up and down and protecting them on the way to work and after school.

The Tong Blossom Wall on my body turns into lively and active girls at every hour exactly, wearing colorful dance clothes and dancing in all kinds of styles.

Recently many friends and neighbors have moved near my house. There will also be one new police station at Exit No. 1 while some new buildings will be completed soon. There are more people visiting Dingpu MRT Station.
